After extensive testing and product research by the KB, the SunRise Apollo HS scanning system was chosen as the best overall scanner for digitizing the
Libraries extensive archive of microfilms. The key factors in the decision was the quality of the scans produced as it is in
accordance with the library Metamorphose specifications, even on reduction ratio 22. The scanner operators are able to adjust the scans to specific needs
offering us considerable flexibility with differing film types. The service Sunrise imaging provides is very good and they offer all the input when needed.
The scanners produced according to our expectations with no further issues. The KB has been using the two scanners now since July
2011 and finds them to be reliable.
